Monica uses a delicate, layered approach, she builds her paintings through transparent glazes, allowing light to illuminate the surface from within.?Her work captures a sense of intimacy and nostalgia, drawing viewers into the quiet emotional landscapes of her imagination. An active member of the Cambridge Drawing Society, Monica’s paintings have been exhibited widely, and she has received several awards, including the Public Favourite Vote at the Society’s 2024 Spring Exhibition.?In this demonstration, Monica will show how she develops her compositions, builds up layers to create depth and luminosity, and uses subtle shifts of tone and colour to convey atmosphere. She will also share insights into her sources of inspiration and how emotion informs her artistic decisions.
