Andy Dakin, is a figurative artist from Cambridge. Light and shade play a big part in most of his works, offering drama and interest as well as useful information to work with.
Andy is a figurative artist who paints and draws in Cambridge. He returned to art in 2013 with the charcoal portrait ‘Old Mr Farrer Up The Road’ which won the ‘Visitor’s Favourite' at the Cambridge Drawing Society’s Spring exhibition that year. Since then he has produced many portraits in charcoal, developing techniques and working from his own photos with a method which is extremely quick. On his visit to Ely he will demonstrate several techniques and show you some ‘tools of the trade’, and help us think about our own work critically,
